Got dark under eye circles? Don't we all? Yes, it's a normal thing for some of us to more than others. Mostly its a genetic condition but poor eating habits or over active lifestyle and lack of sleep will cause the darkness to appear under the eyes. Before I talk about the natural beauty treatment I wanted to explain why this happens. The area around the eyes is the most thinnest and can retain the most fluids and does not have enough circulation. A diet high in salt will cause the puffiness because the water will just sit there and not move. Sleep positions may enhance this condition. If you are a side sleeper you may notice bags on one side more than the other. Doctors recommend sleeping on your back with a elevated pillow so the fluid can easily drain and not sit there. Another cause is wearing eye makeup to sleep that can cause irritation to the eyes and the constant rubbing will cause the fluids to pool once again. Late nights can also have a big impact on your eyes, a well rested individual will look wide eyed and awake and not droopy or puffy. There are many things on the market that claim to be dark circles busters. I have tried those expensive creams but have found them failing on the results. I am and always will be a Coconut Oil fan but this time its not related to cooking. Its the best treatment for the skin. Coconut Oil has properties that once its absorbed it generates heat that causes circulation. Once applied underneath the eyes the same effect is achieved. It not only hydrates the skin against fine lines and wrinkles but also helps with dark circles. I have used Coconut oil on the rest of my face for instant hydration without the oily feel. Other benefits of this wonder cream is scalp and hair care. It helps with dandruff and brings back the lost luster to over processed hair. Use it on stretch marks or acne and watch them disappear. As with any treatment regular use will give optimal results but do a test area first and make sure you are not allergic in any way. ![]() Contributed by Afsha Ghumra from the Beauty Fashion & Food blog. Beauty Fashion and Food are my favorite things to talk about. Been obsessed with makeup and skin care routines since I was 15. In this day and age of knives and artificial treatments I wanted to hunt out the natural way of aging gracefully just like God intended.
