Have you ever reflected on what’s in those bottles in your bathroom? Well, if you do go and get one and read the back of it you will find something called “International Nomenclature of Cosmetic Ingredients”. It is a list of almost all ingredients in the product, but the rules on how this can be written has many loopholes.
I really ask everyone of you to look up the chemicals in your products because even if the front of the product has nice colours with natural, smooth, nurturing and etc written all over, it may contain chemicals that are the complete opposite.
The most common ingredient is Sodium Lauryl Sulfate. It’s cheap and gives a good lather but it may cause irritation on skin and mucous. It may even worsen skin problems and may cause cosmetic acne which will go away once you stop using products containing SLS. I recommend reading about the ingredients in your products so that you know what you actually putting on yourself.
With that said, I will tell you about other things that have way better impact on your skin. You will find them in your own cabinet or in the food section! There are so many products you may chose from and the prices vary as well. Some of the products I strongly recommend are cold-pressed oils, ecological, local and fair-trade products. They have the most benefits in them that will help your body. Another consideration before you start using natural products for your hair, it’s good to take a last shower to take away traces of silicone in your hair with a product that contains SLS but has no silicone. I used dish soap. This will make your hair look messier and worse initially because the silicone works as a capsule that makes your hair look nice while really destroying what's underneath, but with a hair cut that takes care of split ends and with time your hair will become much stronger and be “back to normal” or even better.
