It's time for some natural beauty time! Get ready to be scrubbed away--your dead skin cells that is. Yep! This is also around the time of year that your makeup is feeling cakey and flaky and even if you don't use makeup the combination of cold weather, the use of water and the heating system will make your skin dry and cloggy--not to mention itchy! But, no worries, we got the perfect natural organic exfoliating face mask to the rescue.
Before you get too excited a few reminders; 1. Natural beauty recipes work over time. 2. Our skin needs vary from person to person so its needs are individualized. What might work for someone, might not work for you. 3. Keep in mind that skin is a reflection of what is going on inside the body. If you have skin that needs to be treated, then it is recommended to seek the assistance of a Dermatologist and/or your Medical Doctor. Some things are bit beyond our control. Enough said, we think you get the picture!
The two main ingredients of today's natural exfoliating(which unglues the dead skin cells from your skin and helps your skin better absorb your moisturizer and make-up) face mask is organic honey and organic brown sugar. That's it! But, of course we wouldn't just leave it at that. If you have never exfoliated before, one very important practice to keep in mind is to be always gentle on your face specially around the eyes(no oil glands). Why else? Well, without giving you a ton of medical research, the skin layers on our face are a lot thinner in comparison to the rest of the body. Hence, why it needs its proper individualized care and why you wouldn't put heavy body lotion on your face. Kapish? Great! Let's move along.
Oh honey! This ingredient has been used for thousands of years and mentioned in abundance throughout religious scriptures and cooking recipes. If you are just getting familiar with honey for other uses then for your tea; well, be prepared to meet your new sweet bestfriend. In this recipe case, honey is going to act as the cleansing and humectant on your skin and the glycolic acid(what beauty products use and naturally found in sugar) in the organic brown sugar is going to help unglue the deadskin cells from face as well help brush them away. Both ingredients also act as anti-bacterial agents to help lessen skin infections. Another important tip to keep in mind when happily scrubbing away; try to do it in circular motion in the direction of your hair. Again, the skin around your face are very sensitive; use gentle motion. Oh! and don't miss your lips! This natural organic honey and brown sugar exfoliating mask does lip-smacking wonders on them! Other awesome benefits are the antioxidants properties in both the honey and brown sugar that help tighten your pores and minimize fine lines not to mention it adds glow to your complexion.
