FALL Wardrobe: Shirt Dressing

Picture
Esme Vie exclusive for Moda Operandi
Summer may be coming to an end, but not oversized shirts and shirtdresses. And to prove it, Luxury Italian brand Esme Vie has designed a pretty chic 16-piece shirt capsule from Tuxedo style to casual exclusively for Moda Operandi. Also among the popular clothing items that have reigned over Summer at least in the streets of New York (recalls morning commutes through West Village and Chelsea) were over-sized white shirts in particular, sometimes with pants(without them) and sometimes over skirts. What is it about these utilitarian pieces that date back to the 1800's and commonly known to be popularized by Christian Dior after World War II? Well, if you wore one, you know it's comfort, versatility, and ease-of-dress in a fast-paced world. You can literally take them from office to weekend(with accessory additions) which makes them asset pieces for the woman who wears different hats throughout her day and week. They seem to continue throughout the decades to serve their initial function; practicality. In the bigger scope of things, fashion seems to keep getting more comfortable with each season and seam lines are either everywhere to non-existent, perhaps that's why this trend turned season-after-season essential is still reigning in our wardrobes. Here's to Fall and walking out in the comfort of your man's shirt, but this one's yours!
