Although New York Fashion Week officially starts Thursday, the shows are well underway. Among the first to capture attention and a personal favorite is the American brand Rachel Comey; a brand that has a care for women and her world. I personally believe that the designers themselves are an extension to their brand. So for me what they do, say and don't is important because I see myself, my time, my space and money as sacred investments. Most recently, I read a piece on the brand that just made me more enamored of it, Rachel Comey Knows What Her Woman Wants--completely head over heels on her initiative. I agree, there definitely comes a time in a woman's life that one just has to take authority.
For Spring/Summer 2018, she inspires me further on relaxed modernity, my favorite silhouette by the way. If you recall a post back, we talked about shirt-dresses and their longevity throughout the decades, you can see a maxi option within the collection in a stripe pattern. Comey frills us with a mixed of materials such as a sweatshirt style top styled with a fringe evening-esque skirt. You can see that in other styled looks, so it's sure making a point, love it! I don't think evening dressing has looked this comfortable either, that last look: crinkle transparency over jeans, like yes! Also, hands-up for the age diverse of models used, something that should be the norm and not to have to point out. See the full collection here.
