Our appointment was at two o'clock in the afternoon at the hotel where Miss K, Editor and co-founder of Hijablicious, a modest fashion and style blog founded in 2010 in London, was staying while visiting New York for the first time and from there we were to head over to Knave Cafe at Le Parker Meridien Hotel right off 57th Street and 6th Avenue. The day was a glorious one in New York, not too hot for mid-summer and the skies were gleaming with sunshine. Definitely a perfect day setting to meet and get to know someone! After meeting with her at her hotel, we hauled a cab and headed over to our coffee and chat spot. During the cab ride, we briefly spoke on faith and marriage--learning she is a newly wed! Oh, the excitement of those first months!
We arrived at our destination and walk over to the cafe still chatting about our selves and our views. While we ordered our beverages, tea for her and a latte for me, we sat and got more acquainted with each other--at moments enjoying her London accent and taking in her calm demeanor energy. Aside being a co-founder of Hijablicious, a platform she's passionate of because it helps business owners reach the right market and supports young entrepreneurial women, she is also by profession a socio-political researcher--a topic we later after our late Turkish lunch dipped into. Our beverages had arrived and we moved our focus and conversation to the purpose of our meet--a talk on modest fashion, style, faith and business!
