Review: Hellessy Fall/Winter 2016

Picture
By Mariana Aguilera

Comfort and traditionalism on a bed of casual directness is the dialogue at Hellessy this Fall, per my intuition that is! There's a serenity in the aura of the collection that's attractive not so much from the hue palette, but from texture. Aspects such as kimono and romantic sleeves with softly and almost undetectable trend notions such as off-the-shoulder, asymmetrical hemlines and the skinny scarf give its main component, the classic appeal, what we women want--adaptability. Last Fall it was her elongated knit scarf look that I couldn't get off my mind, this season it's her comfort vs. comfort look--floor length shearling vest over silk. Just exquisite!
