Upon hearing 'Purple Haze' by Jimi Hendrix and seeing the first model with styled hair bangs make her way down the runway, I sort of had an idea what Tadashi Shoji's collection was going to be all about, aside gorgeous dresses, of course. The idea became more clear as the music went on with 'These Boots Are Made for Walkin' by Nancy Sinatra and the rest of the models came out referencing sultry fabrics in velvet and lace. Both singers were famous in the late 60's, a time of the second feminist movement in America. Oh, yes! This show is about women for women, without a doubt. Never second guess your intuition! The show notes read "A wave of change is taking over the world." Tadashi made a nod towards a significant time of change for women in our country and connected it with today's women climate of change. Indeed, change is inevitable and it's happening. The question is: will you be part of it?
