'Tis the first day of Spring and I have to say, It caught me off guard! I normally have this whole clean beauty plan to execute every season but not today. Yes, I was one of those that woke up today on Sunday and realized it was officially Spring. Perhaps it has to do with my new implemented habits I started on this New Year. Anyways, since I dedicate almost every Sunday to some extra bodily nourishment and the first day of Spring happens to land also on this day, I thought to share one of the natural face scrubs I use from time to time for a little Spring face cleaning.
I buy a box of individual Raw sugar packets and use one packet per use--it's the ideal amount for me. Before the scrub if it's right in the morning I don't wash my face and just use it--of course having to have washed my face the night before. I am in the opinion right along with Salma Hayek that one doesn't need to wash our face in the morning. Again, it's different for everyone. Suppose I had use makeup the day before, I do wash my face in the morning for any leftover residue. Another reason I use raw sugar--it doesn't dissolve as quickly as white sugar. Since skin is a breathing organ, I try to use on my skin ingredients with some type of added benefit--white sugar doesn't have any. As far as to what oil to use, aim for dedicated face oils or lighter oils. Damp skin with water, squeeze a few drops of the lime and oil on the raw sugar and use your hands in a circular upward motion to scrub. Wash off with warm water and rinse with real cold water to close the pores. That's it! Depending on your skin, you might not have to use moisturizer--the oil with be trapped in the skin and act as one. Again, depending on what your day will consist of, act accordingly to your face.
Remember it's about aging gracefully. Happy Spring!
