Another New York Fashion is over, but never the style, never the fashion (also literally, there's still 'officially' three back-to-back weeks to go). Let me first point out that the weather in New York this fashion week was just perfect for any outfit--leather jackets to Summer dresses! We saw it all. Last year, it was a sweaty mess. So what reign in the streets? Here are six trends. Yes, not included are the fannypack, velvet and color lenses as they too did their thing this week.
Ok, I completely lost count somewhere in the middle of day one, but short white booties we're queen in low heel and then came gyms shoes, probably as second popular. So, there goes that rule of white after Labor Day.
Can we just make this trend a wardrobe staple? This prairie-looking piece is easy, comfortable and practical. They were seen from midi to maxi lengths paired with yes, white booties, avant-garde heels, layered with a corset, leather jacket or oversized sweater. Anyways, I think we all should own one, if you don't yet.
Suits had their share of wear in millennial pink, plaid, lilac, which we hear is the next 'it' color. We shall see. I also want to add in relation to the suit that the oversized blazer and wide-legged pants(love the khaki high-waisted ones) were quite popular too, if the suit look doesn't suit your style.
Mono color pop
Green and yellow were among the faves this season. Also, it was quite refreshing to see color in a city where black is king. Can we keep this trend going?
Yup! Layering is still here(throws hands up). We saw dresses over jeans. Blazers over dresses. Corsets over dresses. Pants over pants. Blazers over blazers. Blazers over dresses over jeans. A lot of jean jackets over everything. Ooof! Keep it coming.
Yes! The bigger the louder the message. Aside shoes, earrings were game strong throughout fashion week. Think oversize minimalist hardware or big colorful details.
