Wooohooo! ‘Tis the time to gift-give to our loved ones and the number one person in your life, you! It’s also a good opportunity to use our consumer buying power and invest in woman-owned businesses. So, where to shop? Well, let me welcome you to Young & Able! They are an e-commerce and seasonal pop-up shop founded by Rosa that has thoughtfully brought together creative entrepreneurs to showcase their handcrafted designs since 2014. And may I add, I’ve been there since their 1st pop-up! This holiday season Rosa gives us an intimate shopping experience—a beautifully arranged 3-story Brooklyn townhouse stocked with handcrafted goods from 60 female-led small businesses. The intimacy comes as every room hostess items pertaining to the purpose of the space. The bathroom is stocked with beauty products that you can test reminded me of walking into my friend’s bathroom and wanting to try her stuff(is this just me?). I hand-picked nine gift ideas for the women friends in our lives. Happy Holidays!
No. 1: Wool Slippers
Ha, ha! As with every season, to keep or to give? That is the question. These are cute, wooly, shearling and cozy! And probably falls under every friend category. Make them extra with a pair of candles. Young & Able sells it as a gift set here. These candles are 100% soy for a clean burn and hand-poured in Brooklyn by brand Brooklyn Candle Studio.
No. 2: Clean Beauty Gift Set
No shame. I kept the Rose Quartz Roller by Palermo. I pop it in the fridge at night and use it in my morning self-care routine. For gift-giving, pair it up with this Palermo Vitamin C mask that contains pink clay, rosehips, and strawberry extract for a clean beauty gift and a happy friend!
No. 2 : Wool Scarf(that doesn’t itch)
Key phrase here is ‘doesn’t itch’. This gift is for years to come and one that much will be remembered by who gifted it when worn. This scarf is sustainably made with 100% Baby Alpaca by Kloe.
No. 4: Women Power Art Work
Definitely for all our women friends kicking butt and in special for that one woman friend in our lives that keeps us woke—let her know we’re listening. This piece is made by Jinjin Sun. Her graphics are available in a mug too.

No. 5 Wall Hanging Planter
New plant lady in the making here! And I would like one of these gifted to me, thank you. These homemade plant hangers by The Knot House come in two ways; with an artificial plant or without it.

6. Leather Tote Bag
Essentials are always a good idea. This Ramos Mode tote bag is designed and handmade in New York. Another perk for our unique friends is that they limit the amount of pieces. Other pieces in their line include satchels and card cases.

No. 7: Hand-Made Ceramic Mug
Ok, this mug was a fun experience—you can hold it in different ways. It would make an ideal gift for our coffee/tea and creative friends. This short mug is handmade by Ceramicist Courtney in Brooklyn. She makes it in three other types of designs—the variation is in the handle design.

No. 8 Woman Boss Book
A book for women with goals because advice is gold! You will find this book when you go downstairs to the garden space in their book club section.

No. 9: Tea Drops
Talk about tea on the go! These are organic pressed teas that dissolve in water. Sashee Chandran states on her site that 20% less waste than a tea bag. Young & Able has packed them in a gift set that includes artisan mug and candle. Now tell me what kind of friend would reject this Sunday morning gift?
