Movie Watch: TWINSTERS

Picture
Eyes are watery and heart is still warm and pounding deeply from watching this film. I also feel a deep sadness and anger because something in the ending, I and perhaps everyone who watched didn't come to be, at least not yet. But, that is life and reality! The content part is I can go on social media after watching the film and find out more about the characters and maybe get a follow-up, which is exactly what I did! But, no follow-up just yet!

TWISTERS was released in July 2015 and it's about two identical twins sisters Samantha Futermon, an actress in California and Anaïs Bordier, a fashion graduate in France who were given up for adoption in Seoul Korea by their mother. Samantha who doesn't really believe in destiny, ironically in her situation, has a popular YouTube channel and this is how Anaïs Bordier through a link person happened to come across her. The good power of social media!

At the beginning of the movie I thought this would be another film of twins finding each other and 'happily ever after!' But right a bit into the movie, it started whispering suspense on my heart that there might be more to this story. I started asking all these questions in my head about the reasons for their adoption, are their birth parents still alive? and so on. The film kept quenching my thirst into wanting to know more and not just stop at them meeting. Well, it did! It gave more, lots more. It's a very heartfelt film that leads to question our existence, human reasoning, belief in the unknown, full of compassion as well as resentment. Let me know how the ending makes you feel?
