It's a done deal! Hundreds of thousands of women, men and children marched Saturday, January 21, 2017 under their own causes triggered by the Women's March on Washington. People took to power their own voices on to the streets. And, we took to the streets of Chicago and New York to hear them out! Officials state that an estimate of 250,000 in Chicago and 400,000 in New York marched. The resistance messages ranged from healthcare, immigration, environmental, religious, unity, fundamental human rights, and anti-trump. Among the messages, some of them were in different languages: Hebrew and Spanish to name two.
With a day into the new presidency, this act of rise by some American people definitely sent a reminder to the Trump administration and to all--that our country's democratic development is in the power of the people and their voices and that patriotism relies on resisting and voicing that which threatens our democracy. History is our proof. What was also very energetic was seeing young children guided by their parents in an act of activism. See below some of the resistance messages from marchers on Chicago and New York. Power to you ladies, gents and kiddos! Now take this energy and make something even more powerful happen everyday.
